Charging your Zivio

Charge the Zivio using the included power adapter or any standard USB compliant charging device. The power adapter contains two ports , which can charge the Zivio and any other device that conforms to the USB standard. (Warning: Only charge the Zivio with the cables provided by Joby.)

The Zivio has an internal, non-removable, rechargeable battery. Do not attempt to remove the battery, as doing so will damage the device and void the product warranty. Instead, please see the Care and Maintenance and Battery Information sections of this manual and the Joby online customer support portal.

1. Connect the USB cable to the Zivio

2. Once connected to the USB cable you can charge via two methods:

a. Connect the USB cable to your power adapter. Plug power adapter into wall outlet.

b. Connect the USB cable to your PC by inserting into a USB port on your computer.

The LED indicator will turn RED while charging. When the battery is fully charged, the LED will change from RED to GREEN . A depleted battery may take up to two hours to fully charge. Once charged, unplug the Zivio from the USB cable and it will be ready for use. A fully charged battery has power for up to 10 hours of talk-time or up to 200 hours of standby time. When battery power is low, the Zivio will emit a beep and the LED indicator will flash RED .

Notes: You may experience a slight delay before charging starts. If charging does not start within 10 seconds, disconnect the cables and retry. Talk and standby times may vary across mobile phones, products using a Bluetooth connection, usage settings, usage styles, and environments.

Battery information

Q: How long does the battery in the Zivio last?
A: With normal use, it should last approximately 3 years.

Q: How many times can you charge the Zivio before the battery will reach its half-life?
A: Approximately 600 charging cycles

Q: Should I totally discharge, then recharge the battery occasionally to make it last longer?
A: No, Fully discharging a Lithium Ion battery does not increase its life.

Q: What does Joby recommend for battery storage for a long period of time?
A: When storing for more than a week these guidelines can better preserve the life of your battery:

  • Do not leave your Zivio continually charging.
  • The battery in the Zivio will last longest if stored at room temperature 20°to 35°C (68° to 95°F).
  • Fully charge the Zivio before storing.

Q: Can the battery be "overcharged"?
A: No, the charging circuitry in the Zivio prevents the battery from being over charged.

Q: How long does it take for a Zivio battery to fully recharge?
A: The charge time varies with the age and level of the battery. Typically the Zivio will be fully charged in under 2 hours.

Additional notes:

  • The full performance of the new battery is achieved only after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles.
  • Recharge your battery only with the Joby cable.
  • Never use a power adapter that has been damaged.
  • Leaving the power adapter in unusually hot or cold places will reduce the capacity and lifetime of the battery.
  • Do not store the device in hot areas. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices and damage batteries. Always try to keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). A device with a hot or cold battery may not work temporarily, even when the battery is fully charged. Battery performance is particularly limited in temperatures below freezing.

Do not dispose of batteries in a fire as they may explode. Batteries may also explode if damaged. Dispose of batteries according to local regulations. Please recycle when possible. Do not dispose as household waste.
